President' Message - April 2002
As I write this it is snowing outside. It is the first of April and Mother Nature is always surprising us. Our distance driving clinics were a success. A total of 55 people were introduced to the sport of distance driving. There are a lot of drivers out there. We found a wide range of experience. Some folks were just starting and others have done pleasure drives and looking for more of a challenge. We found every breed of horse represented too. There were lots of questions about equipment and what type of carts. At the Wisconsin clinic, Elinore Tonsor said, A Use what you have as long as it is safe. Try the sport and then see if you want to purchase different equipment. A That certainly is good advice.
Now is the time to be organizing your equipment. Make a checklist and take care of all these little details and maybe some of the big ones. I find that I can accomplish anything given enough time to work it into the schedule and half the battle is just getting started on the task.
At the last meeting held in March, Deb Dixon said she would publish a newsletter and Tom Krueger said he would pay the postage for mailing. It is very generous of them. Now all of you need to contribute. If you have questions or suggestions email them to me and we will follow through.
